Wayne Douglas is a world-renowned biochemist, lecturer, educator, and a former nationally ranked miler and 1500-meter runner.  He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Presidential Biology Teacher of the Year Award and the National Thomas Edison Physical Science Instructor of the Year Award presented to him by the National Science Foundation, a government agency created by Congress “to promote the progress of science.”

Since the early 1970s, Wayne has owned and operated Elite Health Foods and its consulting service Elite Health and Sports Nutrition Management in Culver City, California.  Clients across the country have flocked to his education and wellness seminars for lifestyle improvement tips and practices for long-term health.  Additionally, he utilizes his experience as a retired runner to consult the world’s top athletes on the international track circuit as well as professionals in the NBA, NFL and MLB.

In 1989, Wayne founded the Elite Health Track Club (EHTC) as an organization of Sub-Masters and Masters Athletes.  Since its inception more than ten (10) National Champions and seven (7) Olympic participants have emerged from his structured and systematic style of development.

Dedra was born and raised in Los Angeles, completing college at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee and U.C. Berkeley. While Wayne was out on the track running, Dedra could be found in the dance studio, with her first loves being God and dance. Her mom was an elementary school teacher, and her dad a real estate broker and appraiser. Eventually, Dedra settled into real estate appraising for veterans through the Department of Veterans Affairs, and has raised two sons, Chris & Robert, LMU and USC alums.

Currently, Dedra works as a real estate appraiser in the morning and at the Elite Health Foods store in the afternoon. When not preparing appraisal reports and working at the store, she enjoys teaching and directing the King David's Praise Dance Ministry for the youth at her church!
